Kuyper Cougars fall to Cardinals

The Cardinals headed to Grand Rapids, MI, on Thursday evening to take on the Cougars of Kuyper College. Having lost to the Cougars at home earlier this season the Cardinals were hungry for a win in this rematch. Good communication and strong defense helped the Cardinals to secure their 10th consecutive win, 95-61.

The Cardinals knew that they would have to earn this game on the defensive end and the box score reflects that mission. They clogged up the passing lanes and came away with 17 steals and 5 blocks as a team. When the Cardinals defense is locked down their offensive game comes naturally. The team put up 45 first half points and 50 second half points. Five players scored in double digits and senior guard Tyler Wooldridge posted a double-double. The Cardinals put everything they had into the game and walked away with the win, 95-61.

Tyler Wooldridge led all scorers and stuffed the stat sheet with 23 points, 10 assists, and 7 steals. Junior Orelus posted 20 points and 5 rebounds while shooting 4 of 7 from downtown. Freshman forward Robert Moon added 17 points and 6 boards. Matt Little dropped 15 points and grabbed 8 boards. DJ Haskins came off the bench and chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds.

The Cardinals take on the Silver Lake College Lakers on Saturday night at 8:30pm in Berrien Springs, MI. It will be the second time that the two teams meet.
